Old Guards Ran Online: terms of use
Terms version: 1. Last change: 2026-11-04. Published by Old Guard Games.
These terms are an agreement between you and the Old Guards Ran Online team ("we", "us").
When you tick "I agree to the Terms", make an account or play on the game server, you accept these terms and the privacy notice.
If you do not accept them, do not make an account and do not play.
1. This is a free test period
- The service is a free test of a game server that is not finished. It is not a finished product.
- The service has no shop that takes real money. You do not pay to play.
- The server can have bugs, lag, slow periods and outages.
- The game can change at any time. Items, skills, maps, monsters, prices and rules can change without notice.
- We use the test period to find and fix problems. Your play and your reports help us do that.
2. Your game data can be reset or deleted
- We can reset or delete accounts, characters, items, game money and progress at any time, also without notice.
- When the test period ends, we delete the test period data. The privacy notice gives the time limits.
- Items, game money and accounts from the test period have no real-money value. A reset or a deletion gives you no right to payment, to compensation or to items in a later version.
- Do not buy, sell or trade game items, game money or accounts for real money or for things outside the game.
3. Who can play
- You must be at least 16 years old.
- If you are younger than the age of majority in your country (for example 18 in the Philippines, 20 in Thailand), a parent or legal guardian must read these terms and agree before you play.
- If we find that a player is younger than 16, we close the account and delete its data.
- You must make your account with your own e-mail address that works, and you must verify it.
- You must use your own copy of the original game client that you got lawfully. The game package does not contain it, and we do not supply it.
- Do not play if the law of your country does not permit you to use this service.
4. Your account
- One person controls each account. Do not share, sell, lend, give or buy accounts.
- Keep your password secret. Do not use the same password as on other services.
- You are responsible for what happens on your account.
- Do not make more accounts than you need to play. We can close extra accounts that are used to avoid a ban, to abuse events or to break these rules.
- The server permits at most 16 open connections from one internet (IP) address. It refuses more connections. Players who share one network (for example a home, school, internet cafe or mobile network) share this limit.
- Tell us at once through the contact route (section 14) if you think that another person uses your account.
5. Rules of conduct
Do not do these things:
- Do not cheat. Do not use modified clients, memory editors, packet tools, speed tools or other programs that change the game or give you an unfair advantage.
- Do not use bots, macros or scripts that play for you.
- Do not use bugs or exploits for gain. Examples: item or money duplication, walking through walls, skipping cooldowns.
- Do not attack the service. Do not flood, overload or scan the servers. Do not try to get into the servers or into the accounts of other players.
- Do not harass, threaten, bully or insult other players or the team.
- Do not post hate speech, sexual content, content that harms children, illegal content or the personal data of other persons.
- Do not pretend to be a team member or another player.
- Do not use character names, club names or chat that break these rules.
- Do not sell or advertise goods or services in the game.
- Do not use the service for any illegal purpose.
If you are not sure that something is permitted, ask through the contact route (section 14) first.
6. Bugs and exploits
- If you find a bug or an exploit, report it. Do not use it, and do not tell other players how to use it.
- In the game, F11 or the "Bug Report" button in the Esc menu writes a report folder on your own computer. The game does not send it.
- Send a report folder only through the contact route (section 14). Read the files first and remove anything that you do not want to share.
- A player who reports an exploit quickly and does not use it for gain does not break rule 3 of section 5.
- When you send a bug report, an idea or other feedback, you give us permission to use it, free of charge and for all time, to improve and run the game. You get no payment for it. You keep any rights that you have in it.
7. What we can do when a rule is broken
- We can warn you, remove items or game money, reset a character, stop an account for a time, or close an account.
- We can also block an IP address or a network range.
- We decide the action. It depends on how serious the problem is and on earlier problems.
- If an action is necessary to protect the server or other players, we can take it at once, before we contact you.
- If we stop or close your account, you can ask us to look at the decision again. Send your request through the contact route (section 14) within 30 days. Tell us the account e-mail address and why you think that the decision is wrong. Where possible, a different team member reviews it. We try to answer within 30 days.
8. The service can stop
- We can stop, pause or end the service, or any part of it, at any time and for any reason, with or without notice.
- We restart the server for maintenance. When we can, we announce planned maintenance in the game first.
- When the test period ends, the accounts and the data are deleted as the privacy notice says.
9. No warranty
- We give the service "as is" and "as available".
- We do not promise that the service works, is safe from errors, stays online or keeps your data.
- Some countries do not permit some of these limits. In those countries, these limits apply only as far as the law permits.
10. Limits of our responsibility
- The service is free. As far as the law permits, we are not responsible for any loss that comes from the use of the service, or from a time when you cannot use it. This includes loss of data, game items, game money, progress, time, profit or other indirect loss.
- As far as the law permits, our total responsibility to you for all claims about the service is zero, because you paid nothing.
- Nothing in these terms removes or limits a responsibility that the law does not let us remove or limit. Examples: death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or your rights under the consumer and data protection laws of your country.
11. Game content, names and the package
- RAN Online and its names, logos, art, maps, music and game data belong to their owners. This service is a fan project. Those owners did not make it and do not approve or support it.
- The game package contains only the program code and files of this project. It contains no original game files.
- You can use the game package only to play on the game server. Do not sell it, rent it, or put it in another product or service.
- If a rights owner asks us to change or stop the service, we can do so at once.
12. Privacy
- The privacy notice tells you what data we keep, why, where, for how long, and how to ask for deletion. It is in the package as
bin/PRIVACY.txtanddocs/PRIVACY-ALPHA.md, and the client shows it with these terms. - If these terms and the privacy notice do not agree about personal data, the privacy notice applies.
13. Changes to these terms
- We can change these terms. We put the new version in the game package, give it a new version number and announce it in the game.
- For a large change, we try to announce it at least 7 days before it applies. A change that is necessary for safety, security or the law can apply at once.
- If you do not accept a change, stop playing and ask us to delete your account through the contact route (section 14). If you play after a change applies, you accept the new terms.
14. Law, disputes and contact
- If you have a problem with the service, contact us first through the contact route below. We try to solve it with you in a fair and informal way.
- These terms do not remove rights that the mandatory law of your country gives you, and they do not stop you from using the courts or the authorities of your country where that law permits.
- If one part of these terms is not valid, the other parts stay valid.
- If we do not use a right under these terms at once, we do not lose that right.
- Questions, bug reports, appeals and privacy requests go to one place, the contact route.
